Smarter Cleaning. Longer Bag Life.

Far too often, shortened bag life is accepted as the norm. Cleaning processes, including start-up and shut-down practices can heavily influence bag life as well as increase operating and maintenance costs. Smarter cleaning can prolong bag life and reduce compartmental and overall differential pressure, derates, and operational costs by decreasing pressure and cleaning energy.

Both under-cleaning and over-cleaning can have detrimental effects on bag life, however bag cleaning systems are not often adaptable enough to provide the best opportunity for full bag life. Blinded bags can result from over-cleaning, allowing the small particles to get embedded in the weaves of the fabric. Under-cleaning can needlessly increase differential pressure and also result in the need to repetitively clean bags which can stretch out the fabric. It is important to keep in mind that filtering does not wear out the bags, cleaning energy wears out bags.

Intelligent Cleaning “ The Total System Approach

Neundorfer provides a total system approach for optimizing baghouses. By monitoring and integrating baghouse operations, the dusts collectors will capture pollutants more effectively, reducing energy consumption and achieving maximum filter bag life. This is important as owners are trying to control operational and maintenance costs, increase particulate capture, maximize sorbent usage and get more operational flexibility.

Cement Plant Gains Consistent Operations

Cement Plant Gains Consistent Operations

A Midwestern cement plant needed to balance cost, outage time, and performance gains in order to make the best use of short outages to address the weak links in the air pollution control equipment. The result was a plan for incremental projects that ...
